Jacob Ramsey could be on the move from Aston Villa this summer transfer window.

Now that West Ham are aware of the fixtures that await them in the Premier League next season, full focus will be on building a squad capable of improving on the misery they endured last time out.

Graham Potter simply needs to be backed; otherwise, the Irons face a real risk of a relegation battle, having only narrowly avoided that last season.

However, in order to do that, they need to recruit well, and they may be about to aid Aston Villa financially in a bid to achieve it.

Ramsey wanted by West Ham

There is not an area of the squad that West Ham cannot improve on this summer, though bolstering their offensive lineup will be high up on their list of priorities.

If Mohammed Kudus departs, those needs will be amplified further, and according to a report from The Guardian (18 June), West Ham are keen on signing Ramsey from Aston Villa.

The Villans want £40million to sanction his sale, which would be considered a cut-price fee, as they look to adhere to the PSR rules before the new financial year starts at the end of June.

Tottenham have also expressed an interest in signing the Englishman, whose versatility will prove to be a valuable asset to wherever he plays his football next season.

Potter needs more Premier League quality

West Ham have far more quality than was on show last season, though still not enough to return to being a side capable of competing towards the top end of the Premier League table.

To put it straight, that needs to change, and with the transfer window open once again, they have no excuses not to bolster their squad.

The signing of a striker will be a priority, but Potter will undoubtedly be keen to seal new arrivals wherever the chance emerges.
