West Ham target Chris Rigg preferred destination shared in £30m update
West Ham United target Chris Rigg will preferably be looking for a move to a team competing in European football, according to GiveMeSport.
The outlet reported via its website [21 November] that the 17-year-old will want to make a move to a club that is competing at the highest level and provides the chance to win silverware.
Recent reports have linked the Hammers to the young player, who could be prised away from Sunderland for a fee of £30million.
West Ham may not be ambitious enough for Rigg
Following this update that the midfielder is looking to make the move to a side that will be competing in European football, this could put West Ham further down the pecking order when it comes to a move for the sought after Rigg.
Manchester United are another side who have been linked with a move for the youngster and they would naturally be more associated with competing at the top level in European competitions, which could make this a more attractive destination for the current Sunderland player.
That being said, the Hammers have shown they can compete and win silverware by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023, meaning this is a possibility for players in Claret and Blue.

However with the Hammers currently occupying 14th spot in the table, it doesn’t currently look as though that is where Lopetegui is taking his side this year.
The London Stadium could be a good move for Rigg if he looks to take the next step in his career.
However, with Sunderland sitting at the top of the Championship, if he wasn’t leaving for the chance to push himself further, it’s questionable whether he would be as eager to leave for something that could be seen as a sidewards step in the short term.
In other West Ham news, one player could soon be set for an exit from the London Stadium depending on Lopetegui developments.
