West Ham submit £9.5m John Victor bid as Bournemouth become key players in deal
West Ham could be about to get the addition to their goalkeeping department that they need so desperately.
Lukasz Fabianski recently left the Hammers after seven seasons, and there are concerns regarding Alphonse Areola’s consistency.
West Ham are working towards completing the signing of Mads Hermansen from Leicester City, but the Dane may not be the only addition between the posts.
Graham Potter has not had the transfer window that he would have liked so far, but he could be about to receive a huge boost in a key position.

West Ham in £9.5m John Victor bid as Botafogo eye Neto as replacement
John Victor has been another player to catch West Ham’s eye in recent weeks, and they have now taken a big step towards completing a deal.
The Botafogo gloveman starred in his side’s recent Club World Cup campaign, and it now looks as though he could be in line for a Premier League move.
West Ham have now made a third bid of £9.5million for the Brazilian, according to Alan Nixon via his Patreon (3 August).
The journalist understands that Botafogo are slowly weakening in their stance on John Victor, and they have turned their attention towards Bournemouth’s Neto as a potential replacement.
However, his lofty wage demands at the Cherries are thought to be a barrier to any potential deal, unless the South Coast side could lend a hand by covering a portion.
It is also believed that although Hermansen is another target for the E20 outfit, they are put off somewhat by the likely price of around £20m.
Hammers need to splash out on a goalkeeper
John Victor is an interesting target for West Ham, but they should really be targeting a player with a slightly bigger CV to be their number one.
The 29-year-old has hardly played in Europe, barring an 11-game stint in the Spanish second tier, and is surely not the calibre of shot stopper who is likely to be a success in the Premier League.
David Sullivan and Co. may have reservations about paying the required fee for Hermansen, but a price in the region of £20m is hardly extortionate for a player who has already impressed in the Premier League.
The desire to save money is understandably, but that is not likely to be a successful stance in the top flight, especially when it comes to such a key position on the pitch.
