West Ham still want to sign Andrea Belotti this summer – report

West Ham want to sign Andrea Belotti on a free transfer this summer and the Italian striker finds the Premier League ‘attractive’ according to Torino Granata.

The Hammers were linked with a move for the Italy international in January but a deal never materialised.

Now Belotti looks set to leave Torino at the end of his contract this summer, and while he has interest from Serie A clubs it is the Premier League interest from Newcastle and West Ham that he finds most attractive.

Belotti has scored 140 goals in his professional club career to date, with 110 of them coming for Torino in 247 games for the club since joining back in 2015.

He also has 42 caps for the Italian national team, where he has scored 12 goals and was part of the squad that won Euro 2020 last summer.

Quality

West Ham need a striker, that isn’t up for debate at this point, and Belotti would provide a brilliant option to compete with Michail Antonio for the number nine position.

He has got plenty of experience at a high level and knows exactly where the goal is, having hit double figures for goals every season prior to this one during his time at Torino.

His arrival wouldn’t need a change of style either, with the Italian and Antonio playing in a similar way. Both are very physical and use their pace to stretch defences which would mean Moyes would have great options.

At 28-years-old he would be young enough to improve but also old enough to help make an immediate impact and that is something fans will be hoping for to help them progress from next season.

Belotti would be a great addition to the side and with no transfer fee attached, wouldn’t take a chunk out of their budget either in what is expected to be a busy summer.
