West Ham source shares condition for Guido Rodriguez exit
West Ham would be willing to sanction an exit for Guido Rodriguez on the condition they don’t lose money on the signing-on fee they gave him, Spanish outlet ESTADIO credits a club executive as sharing.
The Argentina midfielder joined on a free transfer from Real Betis in the summer but is reportedly unsettled at the London Stadium and his patchy form has led to suggestions he could depart.
In the Hammers’ win against Newcastle United, he didn’t start the game for the first time this season and was only given six minutes of playing time.
As such, Estadio has reported that a club executive has refused to rule out Rodriguez departing, though the Irons would require “financial compensation” to sanction an exit.
West Ham exit for Rodriguez?
The move to East London has not been a successful one for Rodriguez who has struggled to impress the supporters at the London Stadium.
However, it now seems as though Julen Lopetegui has decided he may not be good enough either after dropping him from the starting line-up against Newcastle.
Furthermore, given the Hammers came away from this trip to St James’ Park with a deserved three points, the boss will be keen to stick to the line-up that delivered this result for him, which could see the 30-year-old struggle to get back in favour under Lopetegui.

If a permanent departure for the midfielder is to be sanctioned, West Ham have to make sure they make a financial gain from it for it to be worth it. He may have arrived on a free but money will still have been paid out to convince him to join.
Furthermore, given they are having a conversation over a player who only arrived in the summer, this could serve as a reminder to the Hammers hierarchy to reassess their due diligence on potential incomings.
