West Ham snubbed moments before transfer deadline, Graham Potter’s deal is off
West Ham’s summer transfer window has been a frustrating one.
If it wasn’t for West Ham’s 3-0 win away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday and a few late deals, it’s fair to say that fans would be in complete and utter meltdown about how the last few months have gone.
Mohammed Kudus has left for London rivals Tottenham, Graham Potter‘s side have been thrashed by Sunderland and Chelsea and they’ve been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Wolves.
And, now, the Irons have failed in a deadline day move to bolster Potter’s defence.

Axel Disasi rejects West Ham move from Chelsea
West Ham have been active on transfer deadline day, but they only look as though they’re waiting on one deal to be completed after 7pm.
Chelsea’s Axel Disasi has been linked with a move to the London Stadium.
Unfortunately, that deal is off, with Jacob Steinberg reporting on X that Disasi, 27, was “reluctant” to join the East London club.
- West Ham have signed Mateus Fernandes and Soungoutou Magassa in the last week
- Young French defender Dimitri Colau arrived earlier on deadline day
- Disasi has rejected West Ham but one more deal can be done
The French centre-back would have no doubt been a quality late signing for the Irons.
Disasi has been compared to John Terry by Jamie Carragher and with West Ham in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, it seems like they have missed out on a solid centre-back who can add some leadership to Potter’s backline.
However, while there’s bad news about Disasi, there’s good news about Igor Julio’s move from Brighton to the London Stadium.
What’s happening with Igor Julio’s move to West Ham?
Potter and co are still waiting on Igor’s loan switch to East London to be finalised.
The Brazilian centre-back was due to join Crystal Palace earlier on deadline day, but the Irons swooped in and struck a deal that would see him head to Rush Green.
However, the 7pm deadline has passed without any kind of official announcement from West Ham.
A deal sheet will have been submitted to the Premier League, meaning that everything is in place for the signing.
It’ll be an anxious wait now for the authorities to rubber-stamp everything.
