West Ham ‘set for transfer hit’ as Ancelotti being used to lure forward away

West Ham are looking to raise funds this summer to help give more freedom in the transfer window.

Mohammed Kudus was officially confirmed as a Tottenham player on Thursday, ending months of speculation.

Graham Potter brought in £55 million for the winger, with the hope that this will be reinvested in the squad.

However, the London club could yet be set for more departures as West Ham brace for more bids for their stars.

West Ham receive bid for Luis Guilherme from Botafogo

Luis Guilherme has failed to impress at West Ham since his move to the London club last summer.

The Brazilian joined the Hammers from Palmeiras for £25.5m and went on to make only 13 appearances last season.

During this time, the 19-year-old failed to register a goal or an assist, and now West Ham may be tempted to cash in on their losses.

According to O Globo (9 July), Botafogo have made a £17.3m bid for Guilherme.

The Brazilian side have recently appointed Davide Ancelotti, the son of Carlo Ancelotti, as their new manager and are hoping that the attraction of working under the coach may tempt him back to Brazil.

David Sullivan would be humiliated by early Guilherme sale

While the Brazilian has clearly had a poor first year in England, it would be humiliating for West Ham to make such a big loss on the winger so quickly.

If the transfer does go through, the Hammers would lose around £8.3m in just a year on a player.

Guiherme has struggled since his move to England

Realistically, David Sullivan should target a loan move for Guilherme. There is every chance that he could turn out to be a great player once he has adapted to Europe.

Hopefully, this option is explored as staying on the continent is also what the 19-year-old favours at present.
