West Ham set for David Hancko bid as £13million twist emerges already
David Hancko is the latest name to be linked with a move to West Ham.
It is one of the worst-kept secrets in football that the Hammers are in the market for defensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window.
The Irons have conceded the fifth most goals in the Premier League with only Wolves and the three relegated teams allowing more strikes to breach their net.
Graham Potter faces a huge revamp in the summer, with the likes of Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo struggling to play at the required standard.

West Ham join chase for Feyenoord star Hancko
Hancko has been on the London Stadium club’s radar for several years now, and they could finally pull the trigger on a move.
A report from Voetbal International (6 May) claims that the Hammers are one of several clubs trying to seal a deal for the defender.
It states that Feyenoord will seek considerably more than the €15million (£13m) valuation that was placed on him last summer.
The East Londoners face competition from Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Al-Nassr and an unnamed German club for his signature.

Hancko would be a brilliant addition for West Ham
There is no doubt about Hancko’s ability, he has proved that he is the required standard to play in the top-flight with his performances in the Champions League and at Euro 2024.
He is a versatile defender who can play as a left-sided centre-back or as a left-back, which would add some much-needed depth and flexibility to the Hammers’ defence.
Stats (Eredivisie) | Hancko |
Matches | 29 |
Pass accuracy | 90.6% |
Ground duels won | 109 (61.6%) |
Aerial duels won | 41 (61.2%) |
Minutes played | 2,610 |
The 27-year-old is exactly what Potter needs, he can bring the ball out from the back, in fact, he completed the most passes (2,671) and made the most progressive carries in the division in the Eredivisie last season.
Meanwhile, he is also solid defensively, boasting good numbers for duels won, both on the ground and in the air and would provide a toughness to the backline that has been lacking under Julen Lopetegui and Potter so far.
The only question is whether Potter’s side can tempt the Slovakian to reject the other interested clubs and join their project.
