West Ham ready to sacrifice Walker-Peters and teammate as new left-back eyed

Nuno Espirito Santo is trying to do some last-minute transfer business.

West Ham completed the signing of Adama Traore on Wednesday, reuniting Nuno with a player that he was able to get the best out of during their time together at Wolves.

Meanwhile, James Ward-Prowse completed his Burnley medical and has joined the Clarets on loan for the remainder of the season.

Lucas Paqueta is now joining Flamengo as well, which brings to an end a winter window-long transfer saga that should hand West Ham around £36.4million to potentially reinvest before the 2 February deadline, if they wish.

West Ham plot Kyle Walker-Peters and Soungoutou Magassa package deal

More movement is expected to take place at the London Stadium before the window slams shut on Monday.

Back-to-back Premier League wins over Tottenham and Sunderland respectively has filled Hammers hearts with new-found belief that their team could yet avoid the drop to the Championship this term.

One or two more new signings could really bolster their chances even further, but in order to do that, some more fringe players may need to be moved on as well.

It was claimed earlier this week that Fiorentina may want Soungoutou Magassa and Kyle Walker-Peters from West Ham, and now the Hammers may be sat to use that to their advantage.

As per a report from La Nazione on Thursday, Fiorentina’s highly-rated attacking full-back Niccolo Fortini is the subject of growing interest, with Roma tabling an £8.66million offer plus bonuses for the 19-year-old.

However, the report goes on to state that West Ham, as well as Napoli and Juventus, are also keen on the Italian youth international, whose contract expires with Fiorentina in 2027.

It’s stated that Magassa and Walker-Peters have been put forward to Fiorentina by West Ham as part of a potential package deal, and that they are both players that could fit into the Italian side’s plans.

Who is Niccolo Fortini?

Having graduated from Fiorentina’s academy system, 2025-26 is Fortini’s first season as a member of the first-team squad, having never made a competitive senior appearance for them prior to this term.

The teenager spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Serie B side Juve Stabia, where he played 27 times and scored two goals as well as providing three assists.

So far this season, the left-back – who can also operate as both a left and right midfielder – has made 23 total appearances for Fiorentina, with 16 of those coming in Serie A.

As per Sofascore, he’s averaging a 6.69/10 rating per Serie A game, has a pass success rate of 88 per cent and has won 62 per cent of his ground duels – impressive numbers for a 19-year-old in his first season of senior football.
