West Ham ready to give Noa Lang £48,000 per week to sign him ahead of AC Milan

West Ham are ready to gazump Serie A champions AC Milan in their bid to sign Noa Lang by offering him a higher wage, according to Calciomercato [May 28].

The Belgian sensation has been linked with a £21.2m move away from Club Brugge after two excellent seasons with the club saw him score 26 goals in 86 appearances.

And while AC Milan are said to be locked in discussions for the Dutch star, with a meeting scheduled for next week, a fresh report claims that the Hammers are ready to gazump them to get a deal done.

West Ham

Lang is said to want £2.1m per year in wages from Milan, but David Moyes’ side are ready to go beyond that and pay £2.5m per year, which works out to around £48,000 per week for the 22-year-old.

The player is still prioritising a move to Italy, but it’s said that West Ham and fellow Premier League club Leeds are currently ahead in the race for his signature as things stand.

Coup

Jarred Bowen and Michail Antonio are the only West Ham attackers who arguably had pretty good seasons last year, and they could do with some quality alongside them in the team.

Lang would provide just that, and wouldn’t been too expensive either considering his £21.2m asking price. He would seemingly fit in perfectly well among the squad too.

West Ham

He is hungry and driven to succeed, and has played at a high level despite his age, having come through the Ajax academy and already been capped for the Netherlands national team. He was even described as a ‘phenomenon’ by Belgian journalist Peter Vandenbempt

It’s no surprise that Milan are favourites considering they just won their domestic title with a fairly young squad and will be in the Champions League next season.

However if they fail to strike a deal with Brugge, it’s the Hammers that are in pole position to get a deal done and it would prove to be an absolute coup.
