West Ham ready last-ditch approach to sign unsettled Liverpool ace
West Ham United are preparing an approach for Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton as transfer business ramps up, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist told Liverpool site Rousing the Kop (30 January) the update regarding Morton, who featured for 40 minutes for Arne Slot’s side in the Champions League on Wednesday night (29 January) against PSV Eindhoven.
The Hammers are busy in the market for a midfield addition as they look to beat London rivals Tottenham to England star Angel Gomes (Caught Offside, 30 January), and are now understood to be weighing up a bid for Morton, 22.
West Ham considering Tyler Morton deal
Morton could well be leaving Anfield before the 3 February deadline of this transfer window, appearing unsettled as he struggles for game time under Slot.
The second-half appearance in the Netherlands in midweek could be the midfielder’s final outing in a red shirt, having progressed through the academy setup from the age of seven.
Morton does carry some senior experience, having been sent out on loan in the Championship for each of the past two seasons with Blackburn Rovers and later Hull City.

The England Under-21 star has appeared just twice for Liverpool in the Premier League and is now at an age where regular football at the highest level possible is paramount.
The Hammers will not lie down easily in this transfer window and are eager to give Graham Potter the best possible platform to end an underwhelming season strongly.
In other West Ham news, the Irons appear in a better position now to sign a Premier League striker who has worked with Potter.
