West Ham ready approach to sign Will Salthouse player as they aim to seal last-ditch deal

West Ham could utilise their links with Will Salthouse to seal a late transfer.

Current Irons stars Callum Wilson and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are clients of the Unique Sports Group agency, of which Salthouse is the CEO.

He has close links to David Sullivan, being spotted with the East London club’s owner multiple times over the past few years.

The Hammers’ focus has now turned to defensive reinforcements after signing multiple attackers, with just three days to go in the window, and they may turn to a Salthouse client.

Which Will Salthouse client do West Ham want?

Taylor Harwood-Bellis was linked with West Ham in the summer, and it looks like they are revisiting their interest in the Southampton man.

A report from Ex-WHUEmployee, via the West Ham Way, on 30 January claimed that the Hammers are readying an approach to see what it would take to sign the 24-year-old.

It states that the relationship with Salthouse could have an impact of a potential deal.

He said: “The club are exploring a possible transfer deal for him but Southampton are reluctant to sell.

“One thing that massively works in West Ham’s favour is that his agent is Will Salthouse, who West Ham have a close relationship with.

“West Ham are expected to make an enquiry soon to see what figure Southampton would sell for, if any.

“However, we do understand that West Ham are stepping up efforts to land the player.”

What would Harwood-Bellis bring to West Ham?

Harwood-Bellis is an England international, having made his one and only appearances for the national team under interim manager Lee Carsley in November 2024.

The former Manchester City is one of the highest potential defenders in the Three Lions ranks, and he was one of the rare standouts last season, as the Saints were relegated with just 12 points.

He has starred in the Championship this season, and would surely relish the opportunity to step back up to the top level with the E20 outfit.

Harwood-Bellis has played 24 times in the second-tier, notching four goals and won 63 per cent of his ground duels and 57 per cent of his aerial battles, per Sofascore.

He has the ball-playing abilities and defensive instincts that Nuno Espirito Santo needs as he shapes his squad for a relegation dogfight, with 15 matches left in the campaign.

The young defender knows what it is like to be in a battle to avoid the drop, and while he could not help the South Coast side avoid it, he could be vital for the Hammers’ attempts if they can agree a deal to sign him.
