West Ham on verge of ‘significant’ transfer as Premier League player now at Rush Green

Axel Disasi is closing in on a loan move to West Ham United from Chelsea as fresh details emerge on his medical.

West Ham have until 7pm to get all the paperwork in place to bring in centre-back Disasi from London rivals Chelsea.

Disasi has been strongly linked with West Ham in recent weeks, although there have been plenty of twists and turns.

Seemingly all that now remains for Disasi to become a Hammer, though, is for the defender to pass his medical at Rush Green.

Kaveh Solhekol shares latest on Axel Disasi to West Ham deal

It was reported early on Monday that Disasi was set to undergo his medical at some point today.

In an update shared by Kaveh Solhekol live on Sky Sports News, it has now been confirmed Disasi has arrived to undergo that medical.

Solhekol described the imminent transfer as “significant” for West Ham as they have been in desperate need for a centre-back before the window closes.

Sky Sports also added that Disasi rejected interest from elsewhere to join West Ham, including from Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.

Should he pass his medical as expected, Disasi will become West Ham’s fourth senior signing of the window, following deals for Taty Castellanos, Adama Traore and Pablo – each of those permanent.

Will anyone else be following Disasi to West Ham before window shuts?

Word ahead of deadline day is that West Ham were confident of being active right up until the window closes.

That will indeed be the case, as Disasi is now in a race against time to finalise his medical and put the finishing touches to the paperwork.

Beyond Disasi, Real Betis centre-back Natan appears to be the other player the Hammers are honing in on.

It is not known if the deal for Disasi impacts any move for Natan, but it must be remembered the former is only joining on loan until the summer.

West Ham are reported to have bid £34.6million for Natan, which is no small sum, so it could be that a double deal is yet on.
