West Ham make shock deadline day approach to seal Axel Disasi transfer after exit agreement
West Ham United are clearly in the market to strengthen their defence on deadline day.
West Ham have agreed to the exit of Nayef Aguerd, who is set to join Marseille, while Emerson Palmeiri will also make the move there before 7 pm.
Graham Potter was delighted after the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, but attention has quickly shifted to new signings.
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi could be one of many through the door.

West Ham make shock Chelsea approach for Axel Disasi
West Ham are desperate for new defenders.
Charlie Cresswell is another option at the London Stadium, with the Toulouse defender a possible replacement for Aguerd.
Disasi looks to be in pole position, though, with the possibility of a loan deal making it the cheaper move for David Sullivan and Karren Brady.
Jacob Steinberg has reported on 1 September that a loan approach has been made by West Ham, although it remains to be seen if an agreement over finances can be reached.
Chelsea want Axel Disasi gone
In a strange turn of events, Disasi could make the move to the London Stadium months after Chelsea actually offered him to West Ham.
The French international instead made the move to Aston Villa, and mainly played at right back under Unai Emery, in the Premier League and Champions League.
Despite being bombed out at Stamford Bridge to a different changing room, Disasi still has plenty to offer at the very highest level, whether for West Ham or somebody else.
- Axel Disasi joined Aston Villa in January
- Premier League apps – 7
- Champions League apps – 3
Potter has worked with Disasi before during their time together at Stamford Bridge, but it will be interesting to see if West Ham and Chelsea can come to an agreement.
The Blues have become masters at offloading deadwood in recent years, so the Irons need to make sure they aren’t ripped off in any agreement, just because it’s deadline day.
Anything could happen.
