West Ham make 'enquiries' for in-demand youngster Bailey Cadamarteri
West Ham have made approaches to bring Sheffield Wednesday youth player Bailey Cadamarteri to East London, The Sheffield Star are reporting.
Sheffield journalist Joe Crann had previously reported that the Hammers were “keeping tabs” on the forward, and Brentford were also interested.
And he now says the chase has been stepped up, but the player’s preferences may thwart the move.
The reporter writes: “The Star understands that the London-based outfit have already made enquiries about the striker as they seek to tempt him further south, however indications are that the forward is happy where he is and is eager to keep progressing at the club with whom he’s been since he was just nine-years-old.”
David Moyes is said to be “extremely keen on trying to sign him”.

With players unable to sign professional contracts until their 17th birthday, all eyes will be on the decision the 16-year-old makes when he reaches that date in May.
Sheffield Wednesday would be due compensation if were to reject a contract at the club in favour of signing at the London Stadium.
If the Irons have already made approaches to try to ensure that but appear to have been rebuffed it shows a strength of will uncommon in players so young.
David Moyes needs attacking reinforcements but the teenager is not going to be part of the first team plans, with this move certainly based on potential involvement further down the line.
Cadamarteri just won the LFE Online Goal of the Month for a strike in the FA Youth Cup, and is reportedly “making waves” in the under-18s (Star).
If he continues in that vein he will likely be attracting the attention of more clubs as his birthday approaches.
But for now he appears to be happy to stay at his boyhood club, and as an Owls supporter himself this makes sense as he will surely get future opportunities to make a move, should he want to, if he continues to develop.
In other West Ham news, this Hammers star has been training to emulate some European legends.
