West Ham make bid to seal £10m transfer agreement already after Taty Castellanos

West Ham United are desperately trying to keep their Premier League status alive.

David Sullivan has opened the chequebook already, despite Nuno Espirito Santo being in massive danger of the sack at the London Stadium.

Pablo was the first striker signed from Gil Vicente, and he was in the squad as West Ham embarrassingly lost 3-0 at Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

That leaves West Ham four points from safety ahead of the huge clash against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.

Taty Castellanos will be available for that since signing from Lazio, with the wheels now firmly in motion for another new arrival.

West Ham make bid for third January transfer

With the final third now possibly sorted for Nuno, attention has switched to his defence.

Instead of central defenders like everyone has been crying out for, though, West Ham are looking at a new goalkeeper.

According to the Daily Mail on Tuesday, the Hammers have bid for Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento.

It is said to be an initial loan offer, with the option to sign the Brazilian for £10million in the summer.

Bento is a full Brazilian international, making his debut against England at Wembley in 2024.

What about Alphonse Areola?

Alphonse Areola would count himself massively unlucky if he were to be dropped.

The Frenchman has made some sensational saves in recent weeks, and you can ignore how many goals he is conceding somewhat, given the likes of Max Kilman are playing each game ahead of him.

Unfortunately, that means the writing is on the wall for Mads Hermansen.

Hermansen was left upset when Casper Angerkren left the London Stadium back in November, but his lack of football should be his real focus.

Areola is easily the undisputed number one at West Ham now, so possibly adding Bento into the mix would make it impossible for the Dane to shine.

It is just another example of horrible recruitment from the summer, and if the January signings are anything similar to that, the Hammers have now chance of surviving relegation.
