West Ham make approach to seal permanent Jorgen Strand Larsen transfer for January after exit developments
West Ham have made their move to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen in the January transfer window.
Strand Larsen has already proved his scoring exploits against West Ham, netting the winner when the sides met in April.
David Ornstein claimed on 21 December that the Hammers have expressed their interest in signing the Norwegian striker when the market reopens.
He stated that the London Stadium outfit wants a permanent deal, with Niclas Fullkrug in talks to end his West Ham nightmare and join AC Milan on loan.
It would be a blockbuster deal, as Newcastle has offers rejected in the summer that were believed to be in the £55million range.
Why do West Ham need a striker?
West Ham desperately need reinforcements in attack, as they currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League, five points adrift of Nottingham Forest, who have a game in hand.
The Irons have scored the joint-fourth fewest goals in the top-flight this season, and that is one of the main reasons why they are down towards the bottom of the table.

Nuno Espirito Santo has to bring a new striker in, if the East London side are to have any chance of survival.
What is Strand Larsen’s record in the Premier League?
Strand Larsen has 15 goals and four assists in 50 matches in the top-flight of English football, which is a solid record.
He has one goal in 15 appearances in the division this season, but that may be a result of the dismal quality of the team that he is playing in, rather than his own ability.
Playing in a Hammers team that is more expansive and has creative stars like Jarrod Bowen and Mateus Fernandes may help him to rediscover his brilliant form from last season.
It would be a huge statement of intent from David Sullivan and Co. if they could get a deal for the 25-year-old over the line.
It may well save their season and maintain their status in the division, which is the ultimate goal at the moment.
Whether Wolves will want to sell, given their current predicament, bottom of the league, 16 points adrift, remains to be seen.
