West Ham make approach to seal Nicola Zalewski transfer, very significant offer needed
West Ham United have had a very busy transfer window so far but they are not slowing down anytime soon.
Adama Traore is the latest player to make the move to the London Stadium, joining from Fulham for an initial fee of £1million.
The Hammers had already brought in Pablo, Taty Castellanos, and Keibar Lamadrid this month, as they aim to avoid relegation.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit 18th, five points adrift of safety, but their recent good form has drastically improved the mood around the club.
West Ham make move for Nicola Zalewski
The Hammers have made three attacking additions already in the winter window, but they have yet to address their defensive issues.
Nuno’s side have conceded 45 Premier League goals this season, the most of any side.
However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham are still working to strengthen their forward ranks, as they are now in the race for Atalanta winger Nicola Zalewski.
The East London side have enquired about the availability of the Polish international as they consider a fifth signing of the winter transfer window.
West Ham will need to make a very significant offer to convince Atalanta to sell Zalewski, though, given his importance to the Italian side.
The 24-year-old has made 18 Serie A appearances this season, scoring once and picking up three assists.
Who else are West Ham targeting?
As well as continuing to add attacking talent to their squad, the Hammers are also working on improving their backline.
West Ham have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.
There has been no official confirmation of the move yet, but it seems that the 27-year-old will complete his switch to the London Stadium in the coming days.
West Ham are also linked with Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, which has sparked rumours that Alphonse Areola could be departing.
However, Kinsky could simply be coming in to provide competition for Areola as the Hammers fight to stay in the Premier League.
