West Ham make £29m+ offer for Sofyan Amrabat in new transfer update
West Ham have made a £29.9million offer for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, according to journalist Enzo Buccioni via Radio Bruno.
Buccioni reports that the Hammers have tabled a bid for Amrabat who starred at the Qatar World Cup, and while the bid was an acceptable one for the Italian club, the player is less keen on the move as he doesn’t wish to be a replacement for Declan Rice.
The report states that the player’s agent and brother are trying to negotiate his deal, by bringing in the money and choosing the team, as the situation begins to get clearer. The player may yet stay at Fiorentina, although the club are not opposed to letting him go.

West Ham are active in their pursuit
West Ham are showing they can be proactive in their pursuit of a replacement for Rice despite the deal not officially being completed. A bid reaching almost £30million for a new midfielder is certainly a step in the right direction.
Despite the obvious disappointment at Amrabat’s unwillingness to join the East London club, this news should come with optimism that the club are targeting some of the most admired players in that position with the hope of tempting them to the club.
To make the first move over a player who has also been strongly linked to a super-club like Manchester United shows how active West Ham are willing to be in their transfer search.

Other players on West Ham’s list of midfielders include Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse [Football League World, 12 July], Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria [Sky Sports, 12 July], Everton star Andre Onana [The Sun, 8 July], and combative Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez [90min, 29 June].
Of these other names, Amrabat would stand out as one of the best, given his fantastic displays at the 2022 World Cup last December, where many were impressed by his ability at playing the role Rice’s exit leaves bare at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, a loan deal has been suggested in West Ham’s pursuit of Manchester United player.
