West Ham line up Piccoli deal as £10m+ fee agreed
West Ham have continued to have trouble with their attack since Graham Potter’s arrival.
As a result, signing a new striker is key if the Hammers are to move away from the relegation zone.
Multiple players in this position have been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with Roberto Piccoli the latest.
The Cagliari striker has impressed in the Serie A and could now be on the move to West Ham.

West Ham survey Roberto Piccoli
West Ham’s interest in Piccoli comes on the back of the attacker netting 11 goals in the Serie A last season as he helped Cagliari avoid the drop.
The 24-year-old was previously highly rated, after coming through the academy at Atalanta.
- Piccoli was once included in the 20-man shortlist for the European Golden Boy Award
- The striker won the Italian Golden Boy Award in 2021
- Piccoli hit his best goal-scoring return at senior level last season
However, after numerous loan moves in the Serie A, the former Europa League winners finally let the striker go, as he moved to Cagliari for £10.8m in June 2025 after triggering the option to buy.
Now, West Ham could be looking to make his permanent stay at the Sardinian club a short one as they monitor the attacker.
According to journalist Gianluigi Longari via X (29 July), the Hammers are currently surveying the striker ahead of a potential move.
Serie A strikers often struggle in the Premier League
While Piccoli may have impressed in the Serie A, many of the strikers who have made the move to the Premier League in recent times have struggled.
West Ham fell victim to this recently, with Gianluca Scamacca unable to find form at the London Stadium.

Potter has to be wary of this, as it could prove to be another costly attacking blunder for West Ham.
Realistically, the Hammers need to target someone who is Premier League proven if they are to finally end their woes up top.
