West Ham learn Mamadou Sangare transfer answer as RC Lens get ready to cash in
West Ham United have been linked with RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare, with the French club willing to hear offers for the Malian.
Right now, the Hammers are embroiled in a relegation battle, but that does not mean they cannot start preparing for next season.
If they can cement their status in the top flight, Sangare would certainly be a top option as a midfield signing for West Ham.
Ahead of the summer window, the interested parties have learned RC Lens’ stance as well as the midfielder’s preference on his next career choice.

What has been said about Mamadou Sangare to West Ham?
The door for a move for Sangare in the summer could be open for West Ham.
That is according to Africa Foot, who say: “RC Lens will listen to offers for the 23-year-old midfielder, whose contract expires in 2030.”
The Irons have been name-dropped by the outlet, with many other Premier League clubs in the mix too.
West Ham face competition from Manchester United, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Tottenham in the summer.
Additionally, Saudi Arabian clubs are looking to sign the Malian international too, but the report suggests “the player prefers a career in Europe.”
Of course, a move for the Ligue 1 midfielder will likely rely on the E20 outfit’s Premier League status. As it stands, West Ham are in the relegation zone.
Dropping down to the Championship will cause plenty of problems for the Hammers, with Mateus Fernandes likely to leave West Ham if relegated.
Who is West Ham target Mamadou Sangare?
Sangare is a 23-year-old Malian midfielder who has spent much of his career playing in the Austrian Bundesliga.
The Irons target was contracted to Red Bull Salzburg between 2020 and 2024 but would ultimately never play a game.
He had multiple loan stints throughout Austria but also a season in the Belgian Pro League for Zulte Waregem in 2022-2023.
His strengths include his ability to tackle, his positioning and his high pressing qualities, according to Sofascore. This season, he has been a key player for RC Lens, who are sitting second in the Ligue 1 table.
He has made 22 appearances throughout the French side’s 25 league matches, in which he has started 20.
This has been Sangare’s breakout season on the European stage and it is no wonder he has caught the attention of many of those in England.
