West Ham learn likelihood of completing Axel Disasi transfer as deal sheet submitted

Axel Disasi’s loan move to West Ham should be announced in the coming hours.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been searching for a centre-back for the whole of the winter transfer window, but left it late before approaching the Chelsea defender.

With the deadline closing at 7pm, West Ham were concerned that the deal wouldn’t be completed in time.

However, a deal sheet has been submitted for Disasi, and it now looks set to go through before the extended 9pm deadline.

Deal sheet submitted for Axel Disasi, transfer looks set to be completed

Having not played since the end of last season, Disasi had to join the Hammers if he wanted any game time in the top flight.

However, Disasi’s move to West Ham was in doubt after the 27-year-old defender made more demands before signing.

He had completed his medical at a hospital in London, but there was immediate panic that the Hammers wouldn’t be able to get the deal over the line.

Sky Sports have reported that the deal sheet has been submitted in time for Disasi’s move to E20.

The deal is close to being completed, and Nuno will be thrilled to have another centre-back in his ranks.

Disasi is likely to be announced as a West Ham player in the coming hours and he adds some much-needed depth to their defence.

Disasi will play a key role in West Ham’s relegation battle

With the Hammers only having Jean-Clair Todibo, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Max Kilman as their central defenders, they were desperate to sign someone else.

Charlie Cresswell was the primary target, although Toulouse weren’t willing to let him go for cheap.

In one transfer window, the Hammers have addressed problems in defence and attack, but Disasi could be the most important addition.

Teams with the worst defensive record in the Premier League

West Ham are six points adrift of safety, and they currently have the worst defence in the Premier League.

Disasi has experience playing in the Champions League for Aston Villa, while also playing a big part of Chelsea’s 2022-23 campaign.

He has what it takes to become a starter for the Hammers and could rejuvenate the defensive spirit in the team.

Only time will tell if his arrival is enough to keep West Ham in the Premier League.
