West Ham in six-team chase for Villarreal forward Gerard Moreno
West Ham want to sign Spanish forward Gerard Moreno from Europa League winners Villarreal, according to Sport Bild.
The German news outlet claims the Irons are battling European heavyweights Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, as well as Roma, Wolves and Newcastle United.
Moreno’s release clause has lowered from £64.5million to £43million, as per Bild’s report, but he is said to favour a move to La Liga winners Atletico.

Expensive
These are some mouthwatering sums mentioned for Moreno, as well as some giant, elite-level clubs that are reported to be vying for his signature.
We would struggle to oust Atletico and Manchester City for the 29-year-old, given their financial might and ability to offer Champions League football next season.
There would be zero chance of signing him if his release clause was still £64.5million, and £43million still leaves the deal as pretty unlikely, unless the price could be bargained down.
However, it’s not just the price putting us off.
At 29, Moreno is likely coming to the peak of his powers, after scoring 41 La Liga goals over the past two seasons.
His resale value would diminish over the next couple of years, and we just aren’t in the market to splash out cash without being able to recoup most of it back.
In other West Ham news, the Irons want to sign this Euro 2020 striker who scored a Champions League brace in November.
