West Ham have just made their stance on selling Tomas Soucek very clear amid Everton links

West Ham face a critical end to the transfer window, with several of their players in demand.

Lucas Paqueta could leave the London Stadium after being linked with Aston Villa, but would demand a substantial fee.

Tomas Soucek is another player garnering attention, with David Moyes keen to bring his former player to Everton.

While Soucek has been backed for a new West Ham contract, the Hammers have made their feeling known about selling the midfielder.

West Ham want to keep Tomas Soucek

West Ham take on Wolves in the Carabao Cup as Graham Potter strives for some relief from the Premier League.

Soucek could retain his place in Potter’s midfield for the encounter, having started in the Irons’ 5-1 defeat to Chelsea.

The 30-year-old joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague for a reported fee of around £19million in the summer of 2020, as per BBC Sport.

Now, Everton have been informed of the Irons’ desire to retain Soucek, according to The Athletic on 26 August.

The publication reports that the Toffees made an enquiry for the Czech international, and are keen to strengthen the hub of Moyes’ midfield before the deadline.

Soucek was a favourite of Everton’s manager and played a significant role in the Hammers’ lifting the Europa Conference League.

However, West Ham are said to be unlikely to sanction such a deal unless replacements are found.

Tomas Soucek unlikely to force through move to Everton

The central-midfielder has two years remaining on his contract, having spent five years with the Hammers.

While a move to Merseyside might be tempting, Soucek has demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism during his time in East London.

With that in mind, it would be extremely out of character for the Czech to force through a move before the deadline.

Of course, the Irons are undergoing a torrid time right now, and that is a factor that he could consider.

However, if he were to pursue a move at this stage of the window, then it would send shockwaves through West Ham.
