West Ham fully commit as ‘substantial’ details emerge for Alpha Toure transfer
West Ham United are targeting Alpha Toure as they look to add quality to their midfield ranks in the January transfer window.
Nuno Espirito Santo is being financially backed by West Ham, despite the fact that the Hammers are seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League.
Pablo Felipe was the first to complete a move to the London Stadium in January, joining from Portuguese side Gil Vicente, with Taty Castellanos making the switch from Lazio just days later.
The East London side are now looking to make Toure their third signing of the window, and they are ready to splash the cash on the 19-year-old.
West Ham hold concrete interest in Alpha Toure
Toure currently plays for Ligue 1 side Metz, who sit bottom of the top-flight with 12 points from 17 games.
The 19-year-old became a regular starter for the French side last season as they won promotion from Ligue 2, and has continued his form into the new campaign.
According to Wiwsport, West Ham are “fully committed” to sign the defensive midfielder.
The Hammers are prepared to pay a “substantial sum” to sign the Senegalese youngster, who is under contract until 2028.
However, there have still been no negotiations between West Ham and Metz over a deal as of yet.
Who else are West Ham signing?
After bolstering his attacking ranks with the signings of Pablo and Castellanos, it’s clear that Nuno is now eager to improve at the back.
West Ham have been linked with OH Leuven centre-back Roggerio Nyakossi over the past few days, but could struggle to get a deal over the line in January.
The Belgian outfit want to keep the 21-year-old and will only begin talks regarding his departure in February, once the window has closed.
Flamengo centre-back Leo Pereira is another catching the eye of Hammers scouts, but once again, it looks unlikely that he will make a move to the London Stadium.
Pereira is a key player for the Brazilian champions, who have made it clear that they don’t want to negotiate his sale in January.
