West Ham face race against time already for Pablo transfer as medical set
West Ham may have hit a potential issue with their pursuit of Gil Vicente striker Pablo.
West Ham have agreed a fee with the Portuguese club, to bring the 10-goal striker to the London Stadium.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side desperately need goals, with the manager not trusting Callum Wilson to have the required impact.
A report from Sky Sports on 1 January claims that the Hammers have a deadline for completing the deal, with a medical set to go ahead on Thursday.

Why do West Ham face deadline for Pablo signing?
West Ham are in relegation danger, and they need to start picking up wins as soon as possible.
They face Wolves on Saturday, who are the worst side in the Premier League, and having Pablo in by then would be a huge advantage.

The report states that they want him to be registered to play against the Old Gold, which would require all formalities to be completed by 12 pm on Friday.
Why the West Ham board deserve credit
The Hammers board, specifically, David Sullivan and Karren Brady, have come in for significant criticism lately, for allowing the club to sleepwalk into a dangerous position just years after the Europa Conference League win.
While that protest is fair, as they have not been good enough in terms of recruitment, they must get credit for how quickly they are acting to try to resolve the mess.
The Irons have already agreed the deal for Pedro, and they look set to sign Adama Traore too from London rivals Fulham, which should give them an outlet down the flanks.
There is still a long way to go, and they need to back Nuno even more to improve his squad, but it is a positive start to the window.
Whether the moves will be enough to secure survival for the E20 outfit remains to be seen, but it is better than doing nothing and watching the ship sink.
However, more additions must come through the doors at Rush Green, if they are to have any chance of overhauling the likes of Nottingham Forest and Leeds United and retaining their top-flight status.
