West Ham eye former Millwall striker who has just made history abroad

West Ham are eyeing a move for Troy Parrott, according to reports.

The AZ striker was one of the players of the November international break as he scored five times across two matches to send the Republic of Ireland into the playoffs for the World Cup.

His hat-trick against Hungary on Sunday not only gave the nation a chance to qualify for the summer tournament, but was also the first time a Republic of Ireland player had netted three times away from home, according to Opta.

Now, after winning the hearts of a nation, the AZ striker is attracting interest from the Premier League, with West Ham reportedly entering the race.

West Ham monitoring Troy Parrott

Niclas Fullkreg is expected to depart the London Stadium soon. Therefore, it is of little surprise that Parrott is a current option.

Neither club has made a meaningful approach yet, but this could change.

As it stands, Parrott is not agitating for a mid-season move and is settled at AZ.

If he is to depart, AZ want £30.8million for the striker.

Parrott has been in the Premier League before, joining Tottenham in 2017, with Spurs sending the attacker on numerous loans, including Millwall back in the 2020-21 season.

In 2024, Parrott left Tottenham for AZ, where has has been a hit ever since.

With West Ham also considering Joshua Zirkzee as a potential option, it is clear that Parrott is in better form right now.

According to Fotmob on 20 November, the 23-year-old has been outstanding this season.

His 1.04 goals per game in the Eredivisie is the obvious highlight, with the attacker having no issue hitting the back of the net.
