West Ham eye ex-Everton forward Nikola Vlasic as Jesse Lingard alternative
West Ham have £40million left to spend this summer without needing to sell any players, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reports that David Moyes wants to add to his squad before the transfer window closes in a week’s time and is keen on re-signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.
However, if the Irons cannot strike a deal for Lingard, Moyes wants to sign Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow.

It is understood that Vlasic, 23, suits West Ham’s budget and Moyes could sanction a late move for the former Everton forward if Lingard, 28, isn’t signed.
Good enough?
Obviously, we would like to see West Ham sign Lingard.
The England international was in stunning form on loan with us last season and played a huge role in West Ham’s qualification for the Europa League.
However, it’s good to see Moyes making plans in case they cannot sign their No 1 target.
Would Vlasic be good enough, though?
He’s been great for CSKA Moscow in the last few seasons, scoring 33 goals and supplying 21 assists in 107 appearances for them since 2018.
Last season, he scored against France and Sweden in the UEFA Nations League for Croatia while in his debut season for CSKA Moscow, he scored a winner against Real Madrid in the Champions League group stages.
As good as Vlasic has been for CSKA, it’s worth remembering he was a flop at Everton and barely played in his one and only season at Goodison Park.
However, that was a few years ago now and Vlasic is 23-years-old.
He could be a very good signing for the present and for the future.
In other West Ham news, Dharmesh Sheth says there’s every chance the Irons will sign this international forward.
