West Ham deal for Armando Broja more likely this summer – report
West Ham want to sign Chelsea academy prospect Armando Broja, but they’ll have to wait until the summer to do so according to the Evening Standard.
The Albanian striker has caught the eye of many Premier League sides this season after shining while on loan at Southampton from Chelsea.
The Saints were keen to try and tie him down permanently this month but according to the Standard’s Jack Rosser, any deal for the 20-year-old is ‘more likely’ for the summer with the Hammers also interested.
According to the Standard, West Ham are among the clubs fighting it out for the Chelsea loanee and with his current loan deal running until the summer, the Blues are in no rush to open talks about his future.
The player himself is said to be content on loan where he is right now too, so it’s one for West Ham to keep an eye on.
Threat
Broja is a powerful front man, with the ability to run in-behind, be a battering ram, battle with defenders physically and link play with his midfielders.
He seems to fit the mould perfectly for a David Moyes striker and with Michail Antonio the wrong side of 30, it would be a perfect time for the club to start phasing in new blood.

The Albanian signed a new deal with Chelsea before joining Southampton on loan, so any deal is unlikely to be cheap, but it could be well worth it if the Hammers continue in the right direction.
Currently they are looking to push into the top four, although they have lost ground in the race having lost their last two games.
A summer move for the man Micah Richards dubbed ‘excellent‘ awaits, but whether the club can sign anyone before Monday’s deadline remains to be seen.
