West Ham and Leeds United in pursuit of Argentina striker Adolfo Gaich
West Ham are in the hunt to sign CSKA Moscow striker Adolfo Gaich, according to the Reading Chronicle.
The Berkshire news outlet reports that Championship club Reading are keen to sign Gaich, 22, on loan from CSKA while Leeds United are also interested in the Argentina international.
Russian news outlet Sport24 reported earlier this month that Gaich has been dumped from CSKA’s squad for their Russian Premier Liga fixtures this season while TuttoMercatoWeb claims he’s “destined” to leave on loan before the transfer window shuts.

It makes sense
West Ham are still short of a striker with just days to go before the transfer window closes until January.
Michail Antonio is in sensational form for the Hammers up front and we don’t need someone to displace him.
However, we do need someone who can step in and play whenever he’s injured, unavailable or in need of a rest.
Gaich, despite struggling in his debut season in European football last term, could be a good solution.
At 22, he has his best years ahead of him and there’s clearly something about the forward due to the fact he’s been capped by the Argentina national team.
CSKA signed him from San Lorenzo last summer but after just one goal in 18 appearances, he was loaned to Benevento in Serie A in January.
During his time in Italy, Gaich, who’s nicknamed ‘The Tank‘ due to his physicality, he scored twice in 15 outings as Benevento were relegated from Serie A.
However, it’s worth noting one of those goals was a winner against Juventus, of all clubs.
West Ham could do with a striker and if Gaich can be brought in for a decent fee, the powerful centre-forward could be a good option for David Moyes.
Gaich admitted to TyC Sports last year that he’s quite similar to Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland in terms of his physicality.
If he can live up to that then let’s bring him in.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have been offered this prolific striker by a giant club.
