‘We need to keep him’ – West Ham Super Fans react as Tottenham reportedly eye Diop
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

West Ham defender Issa Diop has reportedly attracted fresh interest from Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho now that the January transfer window has opened.
On Sunday, Claret & Hugh reported that Spurs are “weighing up a bid” for the 23-year-old centre-back, who has struggled to earn consistent game-time this season.
Diop has played in just four of West Ham’s 17 Premier League matches this term and failed to impress in his last outing, which came in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in December.
Claret & Hugh now claims that Tottenham could launch a bid to sign the French defender this month but our panel of West Ham Super Fans are divided on whether he should be sold.
Some want to see the ex-Toulouse man stay put in East London, with claiming David Moyes would want to keep him for competition within the squad.
Here is what they said:

Diop may have not played many times this season but the Frenchman has only missed three matchday squads so he’s not ridiculously low down in Moyes’ pecking order.
Injuries or suspensions for someone like Angelo Ogbonna or Fabian Balbuena will no doubt thrust Diop into the starting line-up and that could be a reason why Moyes will bat away any bids from Spurs for the Frenchman.
However, there are some members of our West Ham Super Fans that would be open to seeing Diop exit.

Of course, every player has a price-tag and if Tottenham meet West Ham’s asking-price for Diop then David Sullivan might not be able to say no.
West Ham’s need for a new striker is well-documented and they do have Craig Dawson on loan at the club and Winston Reid is returning from his loan spell at MLS side Kansas.
If Diop can make the club a pretty penny then it would not be a shock to see them sell him.
However, we’d rather he joined every other club in the Premier League before he joins Spurs.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has urged Moyes to name a strong starting line-up in the FA Cup against Stockport.
