Walker-Peters medical update emerges as West Ham close in on deal
West Ham are edging closer to completing the signing of Kyle Walker-Peters.
The 28-year-old has agreed terms over a move to the London Stadium in a transfer twist that looks set to benefit the Hammers.
It had appeared that a move to Besiktas was on the cards for the ex-England international, but that has fallen away at the expense of an Irons link-up.
Now, Walker-Peters looks set to undergo medical tests in East London before confirming a move to the claret and blue outfit.
Walker-Peters to undergo West Ham medical
The versatile defender has been rumoured with a move to E20 for many years, despite a move from Southampton never quite going through.
This was only made more likely this summer after the Englishman departed Southampton at the end of his contract on the south coast.
As a result, the Turkish giants were able to step in and look to complete his signing on a free transfer ahead of the East Londoners.
The Super Lig side have failed in their approach and now a deal looks set to go through at the London Stadium instead.
With that in mind, Ryan Taylor has reported (18 July) that Walker-Peters is set to undergo the first part of his West Ham medical.
This will take place before the Englishman puts pen to paper on a three-year deal at Rush Green, a process which is likely to extend into the weekend.

There appears to be a straight line now between the full-back undergoing a medical and confirming his place in the Hammers’ squad.
This will see the ex-Southampton star follow El Hadji Malick Diouf through the London Stadium doors after a slow start to the summer window.

It is certainly interesting to see Graham Potter bring in two defensive options in similar positions, but for the total fees paid, they can’t be sniffed at.
Irons fans will now keep their ears close to the floor as they await an announcement to confirm the signing of Walker-Peters after such a long period of reported interest.
