Tottenham transfer plans to be ripped to shreds as West Ham favourites for £25m gem
West Ham are looking to hamper Tottenham’s plans with a new signing this summer.
Graham Potter‘s side are yet to start their summer transfer business, though with the window having only been open for five days, there is plenty of time for that to change.
Of course, this season has seen the window open earlier than ever before, to allow clubs competing in the Club World Cup to seal new arrivals before the competition.
However, recruitment at the London Stadium this summer will be crucial, and the Irons have just taken a huge step forward to sealing their first signing.

Marcus Tavernier edges closer to West Ham move
Signing a striker will almost certainly be the priority for the Hammers this summer, amid links to Davie Selke, though Potter will be keen to bolster his squad wherever possible.
One of those areas could be on the wing, especially with Mohammed Kudus potentially leaving, and according to Give Me Sport (4 June), Marcus Tavernier is a target.
West Ham are said to be favourites to sign the Bournemouth star, who could be available in a £25million deal.
Bournemouth | Games | Goals | Assists |
Tavernier | 29 | 3 | 5 |
Should Tavernier move, the Cherries would be unlikely to sanction an exit for Tottenham target Antoine Semenyo, meaning that the Irons would effectively be killing two birds with one transfer-shaped stone.
To bolster their own squad while forcing Spurs to miss out on one of their targets would be a smart move, and one that would also make plenty of sense.

Kudus sale could be crucial to West Ham business
Kudus is a really talented player, though West Ham fans have very rarely been exposed to that ability anywhere near as consistently as they would have liked.
With a move on the cards, his sale would generate significant funds to use elsewhere, and if a deal for Tavernier could be struck, his replacement is right there.
West Ham need to make the right decisions this summer, and a failure to do so will prove detrimental to their hopes of progressing next season.
