Tim Steidten transfer priority at West Ham United after Luis Guilherme shared

Tim Steidten’s West Ham transfer priority after the signing of Luis Guilherme has been shared by in a report from the Evening Standard (11 June).

The newspaper reported on its website that the 18-year-old forward is set to sign in a £20million deal from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth wrote on X that the Brazilian is undergoing his medical on Tuesday (11 June).

The Hammers’ technical director is said to be targeting as many as six summer signings and the Standard explained what positions he is targeting.

“Hammers technical director Tim Steidten is set to lead a significant overhaul of the first-team squad, with a centre-forward, right-back and at least one new centre-back understood to be top of the agenda this summer,” the report wrote.

West Ham set for another busy summer of business

A year ago a war was beginning to wage between technical director Steidten and then manager David Moyes, with the two at odds over the direction the Irons should be taking in the transfer market.

Well, now Moyes is no longer at the club and Julen Lopetegui is the man in the hotseat and thus far there appears to be a decent collaboration between the coach and the technical director.

West Ham Luis Guilherme
West Ham’s Brazilian raid has a already seen them sign Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras this summer.

Steidten has already been a busy man, doing an extensive scouting mission in Brazil, with Luis Guilherme looking certain now to become the first addition of the Lopetegui era.

But there is seemingly still a lot of work to do and you would have to assume that some outgoings will have to be sanctioned in order to allow new faces to be brought in, so Hammers fans are set for another busy summer transfer window by the looks of things.

In other West Ham news, one defender could be on his way out of the London Stadium.
