Tim Sherwood reveals what ‘fantastic’ James Ward-Prowse will bring to West Ham United
Tim Sherwood has raved about what midfielder James Ward-Prowse will bring to West Ham after his strong start to life at the London Stadium.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday Show on 26 August (01:35pm), the pundit said the 28-year-old has got “all the characteristics” of a David Moyes player after completing his move to the London Stadium on 14 August.
The England international registered two assists on his Hammers debut against Chelsea and scored his first goal for the club against Brighton on Saturday, with Sherwood insisting he has a “fantastic attitude” that he will “breed to the rest of the players”.

“He’s got all the characteristics of a David Moyes player,” he said. “He knows he’s going to give everything in training, has a fantastic attitude and he’s going to breed it to the rest of the players.
“Set-piece delivery, he’s going to work hard on his game and still thinks he’s developing and doesn’t think he’s cracked it. He will give everything for the shirt. It’s what David Moyes wants – it’s what every manager wants.”
Perfect start
Sherwood is right in his assessment of Ward-Prowse as he is exactly the type of player Moyes likes to have in his squad and that’s what he fought so hard to sign him from Southampton.
The midfielder showed during his time with the Sainst that he was so much more than just a set-piece merchant, given his tireless work rate and leadership.
He has had a fantastic start to life with West Ham and has already gone a long way towards proving that the £30million the club paid for him could be a bargain.

The Hammes fans are going to love seeing the quality Ward-Prowse can dish out on the pitch as well as the energy he will provide going from box to box.
It’s still early days, but it really has been the perfect start for the midfielder at the London Stadium and he could quickly become a fans’ favourite if he can keep this form up.
