Taty Castellanos transfer completion update amid Nuno Espirito Santo sack talk at West Ham

West Ham could announce the signing of Taty Castellanos within hours.

Castellanos has emerged as a target for West Ham as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to improve his side in attacking areas.

The Hammers boss has already done exactly that after West Ham signed Pablo from Gil Vicente, but looks set to add to the Brazilian very shortly.

Lazio have agreed to let Castellanos join West Ham, with supporters at the London Stadium awaiting an official announcement of the signing.

The Irons faithful may not have long remaining until they see Castellanos in claret and blue after the latest January development.

West Ham due to announce Taty Castellanos signing

West Ham are set to add Castellanos to their squad in the hope of drastically improving their attacking options for the second half of the season.

The Argentine is coming off the back of five goal involvements in just eight Serie A starts this season and will represent a boost to Nuno’s men.

After falling to defeat against Wolves while showing a true lack of firepower, the 27-year-old could be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Frustration is emerging that the deal is yet to be announced, but now Ex-West Ham employee has revealed to The West Ham Way that a deal is set to be completed on Monday.

The Hammers insider has stated: “Officials in the club have informed us that he is still due to complete the latter part of his medical and finalise the finer details of his signing before officially being announced later today or tomorrow.

There have been rumours that Leeds are attempting to ‘Hijack’ the deal or that the deal could be cancelled due to the manager’s future being unclear.

Our top transfer source yesterday confirmed that the deal was still on, and this has been reaffirmed by club officials today. We can confirm that the player is currently at the training ground as we speak, completing the last parts of his move.

Castellanos to join despite Nuno Espirito Santo sack rumours

It is going to take a dramatic turnaround for Nuno to save his job in East London after a disastrous start to his Hammers tenure.

There has been very little positivity surrounding the Portuguese head coach, with results and performances being well below the expected level.

That doesn’t look to have put Castellanos off linking up with the Irons ahead of a London Stadium switch, including quite a sizable fee.

The Argentine will hope he is the man to change the tide on West Ham’s striker hoo-doo after years of failed signings in the number nine position.

With that being said, the East London club know a thing or two about an Argentine striker coming in and miraculously saving them from relegation…
