TalkSPORT host clashes with Darren Ambrose in heated Declan Rice debate amid £150m West Ham update
TalkSPORT hosts Hugh Woozencroft and Darren Ambrose clashed live on-air over the reported £150million price tag for West Ham star Declan Rice.
The Daily Mail reported on 22 March that the Hammers “will demand a record transfer fee of £150million” if they were to sell the 23-year-old England midfielder in the summer.
Manchester United are reportedly leading the race for Rice after Chelsea’s Russian owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK Government.

It’s a massive fee that’s been quoted and is £50million more than what Manchester City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in the summer.
West Ham’s price tag has caused uproar among some sections of pundits and talkSPORT host Woozencroft is no different.
He clashed with Ambrose on the radio on Wednesday [23 March], even though he was repeatedly being told why that £150million price tag was given.
Woozencroft said: “I think he’s an absolutely brilliant player, everything that was just said about him is absolutely spot on – and he’s still not worth £150million.”
Ex-Charlton and Crystal Palace star Ambrose quickly interjected to say: “He is to West Ham.”

Woozencroft then said it’s a “ludicrous price-tag” and after Ambrose repeated his previous remark, the talkSPORT host said: “I hate this argument, ‘he’s worth £150million to West Ham’. Why is he worth £150million?”
Ambrose simply replied: “Because they don’t want to sell him.”
Woozencroft, clearly undeterred by Ambrose’s sensible answer, then went on a rant, saying: “He doesn’t score goals, he doesn’t get assists, he’s not a centre-forward who scores you 30 goals-a-year.
“Attacking players are the ones with a huge premium on them. We’re talking £150million, we’re talking about people that are match-winners.
“My best mate’s a West Ham fan and I said that to him and he said, ‘Declan Rice is a match-winner’. No, he isn’t.
Pathetic
Who is this Woozencroft?
He’s clearly someone with absolutely no knowledge of the inner workings of football and lacks the ability to apply simple common sense to situations.
Ambrose, a former player who’s been shifted around by clubs in the past, is literally telling him why the £150million figure has cropped up. However, the outraged broadcaster cannot see past the end of his own nose in his rant about West Ham and starts going off on one about what he thinks of Rice.
How hard is it, really?
If Woozencroft is reading this, we want to buy your house and your car. You probably don’t want to sell them, do you?
If you don’t want to sell something, what do you do? You ask for an inflated price if you’re told to give a price.
You do that because you want to stop someone from buying something you don’t want to sell because selling your house and your car would be an inconvenience to you, wouldn’t it?
And that figure you put on your house and your car is irrelevant to those who are not involved in any potential deal, therefore those on the outside looking in would think, ‘your house isn’t worth that, next door sold for £300,000 last year’.
See, it’s that simple. Where on earth do talkSPORT get these people from?
