Summerville medical underway on Friday as West Ham United decision due on USA – Sky Sports
Crysencio Summerville is completing his medical at West Ham United on Friday morning, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
As reported on Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre (2 August, 07:30am), Sheth says that the second part of the Leeds United winger’s medical checks are set to be carried out in the coming hours and “it’s hoped he can finalise his move from Leeds soon after.”
It is understood that the Hammers will then decide on whether it’s worthwhile for Summerville, 22, to jet out to the USA to join up with Julen Lopetegui’s squad on their pre-season tour. He could also stay in London after a deal was agreed with him and Leeds on Thursday (1 August).
Summerville should be told to stay in London and await West Ham United return
Summerville’s already going through a lot.
It’s all positive stuff because he’s set to become a Premier League player with an absolutely massive football club but it’s no doubt tiring for him to be travelling around, talking about his future, doing medicals, doing media work and so on.
The last thing the club should do is make him fly all the way to Florida – while he’s also nursing a slight hamstring injury – to potentially sit around and not be involved in a pre-season friendly against Crystal Palace on Saturday (3 August).

It would mean he’d also have to get accustomed to the time change because kick-off at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa is at midnight in UK time.
He’d then be in USA for a short time and be flown back to the UK and we doubt that sitting on a plane for eight hours or so will do any good to his hamstring.
There’s no point in him doing it so he might as well get to work at Rush Green and await his new teammates’ return.
In other West Ham news, the club is preparing to walk away from striker transfer talks.
