Steidten on site to seal Todibo transfer for West Ham United as Juventus still fighting hard
West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten is in Nice to secure an agreement with Jean-Clair Todibo, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported on his X account [9 August], that the Hammers plan to finalise personal terms today but Juventus are still fighting hard to sign Todibo.
West Ham agreed to a deal with Nice for a loan move with an obligation to buy for £34m at the end of the season plus a sell-on clause, Plettenberg said.
West Ham United are winning the transfer window
Unfortunately, there are no prizes for winning the transfer window but if there were the Irons would be hands down favourites.
Julen Lopetegui accelerated his transfer plans last week and secured the signings of Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, and Guido Rodriguez on a bosman following his contract expiry at Real Betis.
Tim Steidten and David Sullivan have backed their manager for his debut campaign in East London and their latest potential acquisition in Todibo could be the crown jewel.

The 24-year-old has been excellent out in Nice, he is the epitome of the modern ball-playing centre-back and could form a formidable partnership with Max Kilman and his more traditional approach to defending.
West Ham mean business this summer and their club has been transformed into one of the most exciting young sides in the division and genuine contenders for the European spots this season.
The deal is still far from straightforward Steidten has capitalised on Juventus’ lackadaisical approach [Alfredo Pedulla] but terms are not yet formalised with the player and the allure of Champions League football in Italy could prove too tempting to resist.
