Southampton ‘want to sign West Ham United ace’, Ramsdale swap deal possible
Southampton and West Ham United could end up working out a swap deal during the summer transfer window.
Graham Potter is aiming to bolster his squad before next season begins as he looks to bring in his own players after inheriting a squad put together by previous managers.
Potter has almost managed to guide West Ham to safety this season, and outside of a footballing miracle for the teams below them, the Irons will remain in the English top flight.
While that has been a brilliant achievement, Potter wants to bring in more quality to ensure that West Ham aren’t scrambling for their safety again next season.

Aaron Ramsdale a target for West Ham
Signing a new goalkeeper is being seen as a priority for the Hammers this season due to the options that are currently available.
The Hammers have struggled to nail down a regular first-choice goalkeeper this season, and neither Lukasz Fabianski nor Alphonse Areola appear to have convinced Potter that they’re the right men for the job moving forward.
That has led the Hammers to Aaron Ramsdale, with the Southampton goalkeeper currently being seen as their number-one option this summer.

Ramsdale is likely going to be looking for a new club himself as he will want to remain in the Premier League to boost his odds of playing for England under Thomas Tuchel.

Southampton might be open to a swap deal
The Saints are going to have a tough summer transfer window as there are going to be many clubs circling around their players following their relegation.
Plus, many members of the squad might be looking to leave themselves in a bid to remain in the Premier League.
However, the Saints also have to make signings of their own to try ad get back to the top flight, and they are targeting West Ham’s Luis Guilherme, who was a second-half substitute in Saturday’s (19 April) 1-1 draw between the sides.
According to Alan Nixon in The Sun (20 April, page 57), the Irons want to try and tempt the winger to St Mary’s during the summer transfer window as they aim to bounce back immediately.
The Saints believe that bringing in new blood will be crucial as they prepare to lose several stars, and West Ham are valuing him around £20million.
That is why a swap deal could end up taking place between the two Premier League sides, with Ramsdale going in the other direction.
