Southampton to miss out on deal as West Ham United book Sunday medical
Southampton are set to miss out on signing Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko because West Ham United are signing Niclas Fullkrug, according to the Sunday People.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on Sunday (4 August, page 63) that with Fullkrug, 31, off to the London Stadium, Dortmund boss Nuri Sahin will “think twice” about selling 19-year-old Moukoko, who’s also been eyed up by Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Stade Rennes and Villarreal.
Fabrizio Romano reported on 3 August that Germany international Fullkrug will have the second part of his medical with the Hammers on Sunday.
Southampton miss out as West Ham go marching on
He’s already signed up Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United this weekend and now it looks as though he’s on the verge of signing Dortmund striker Fullkrug and Argentinean defensive midfielder Guido Rodriguez, who is currently a free agent.
With Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka also topping Steidten’s list [Dharmesh Sheth], it looks as though the Irons are set to strengthen pretty much every single position in their squad going into the new season.

Julen Lopetegui’s attack is going to be something else, by the way.
Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, Luis Guilherme, Summerville and Fullkrug. There are going to be ‘big-six’ sides who are envious of that and who are going to struggle to cope with the Irons when they play them in the Premier League this upcoming season.
