Sources share new Mads Hermansen exit update as Antonin Kinsky swap floated at Tottenham

Mads Hermansen’s move to West Ham has not worked out for all parties so far.

Hermansen was one of the few positives from Leicester City’s Premier League relegation campaign in 2025, with the Dane putting in a string of fine performances in goal.

That convinced West Ham to snap Hermansen up for £20million last summer, but so far, he has failed to fire at London Stadium.

The 25-year-old has played just four times for the Hammers this season, and Alphonse Areola has since usurped Hermansen as West Ham’s first-choice stopper.

Due to West Ham’s current relegation-threatened predicament, they had been linked with a move for backup Tottenham stopper Antonin Kinsky, but that looks to be off, for now.

Mads Hermansen to Tottenham and Antonin Kinsky to West Ham?

With less than a day to go in the winter transfer window, Hermansen has been linked with a loan move back to the Championship with Leicester.

This came after Tottenham’s Kinsky was linked with a loan switch to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, although that move is proving to be difficult.

And according to Danish outlet Bold, West Ham are “no longer interested” in loaning out Hermansen for the second half of the season, despite that being a plan from the off in early January.

Sources share that while he has “great desires” to get more game time ahead of this summer’s World Cup, with several clubs waiting in the wings for his signature, Hermansen may end up disappointed.

The report adds that Leicester are keen on their old keeper, whose contract runs until 2030, but they have been “put on hold” for now.

And previously, a swap with Tottenham for Kinsky was on the table, but that now looks like it won’t come to fruition.

Will West Ham sign any more players before the window shuts?

The winter transfer window has proven to be a busy one for West Ham so far.

While there have been far more exits, as Nuno seeks to push out some fringe players and give youngsters some valuable loan time, there have been some incomings, too.

Forwards Pablo and Taty Castellanos came in for big fees, and since then, West Ham have made more of a fist of their relegation fight.

Had it not been for a sensational late comeback from Chelsea on Saturday, West Ham would have been three points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

But if they want to stay up, West Ham may need more quality across the pitch. To that end, Chelsea defender Axel Disasi looks set to join on loan, and Real Betis’ Natan is also on their radar.

An intriguing final day of the winter window lies ahead for the Hammers.
