River Plate want to sign Manuel Lanzini when his West Ham United contract expires
River Plate want to sign Manuel Lanzini on a free transfer this summer when his West Ham contract expires, according to Fichajes.net.
The Argentine ace is out of contract at the end of the season and has found himself out of favour at the London Stadium this season since the arrival of Lucas Paqueta last summer.
And now a return to his homeland looks on the cards with 37-time Argentine league champions River Plate plotting a contract offer to convince him to return.

Lanzini is considered a “priority” signing by River Plate, as they look to bolster their squad to compete for the league and Copa Libertadores titles.
Good move
Lanzini has been a fine servant to West Ham since joining the club several years ago, and his absence from the team this year hasn’t been a popular decision among many.
His energy and technical quality have been missed, but the squad has moved on from needing him to be around considering the options we have in those midfield and attacking areas.
He is now 30-years-old and a return to Argentina and River Plate seems like a very solid option for him, as he would be a key member of their squad and would be competing for trophies rather than just floating around in Europe.

There has been very little talk of his exit or even interested parties elsewhere, so it could be that a deal is close to being done or it could simply be that there is limited interest in his services.
Either way, River Plate represent a solid option for him and considering he is a bit-part player at West Ham these days he’d be crazy not to take it.
