Report: West Ham keep close tabs on Reading defender
West Ham are among a number of clubs who are keeping close tabs on Reading defender Liam Moore, according to TeamTalk.
The football news website reports that Premier League are drawing up plans for their approach to the January transfer window and it seems David Moyes wants to continue bolstering his defence in the winter.
However, West Ham have competition in the race to sign 27-year-old Moore as Leicester, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle are also reportedly keen on him.
Moore has captained Reading in what been an almost-perfect start to the Championship season at the Madejski Stadium.
The Royals have won six and drawn one of their opening seven fixtures, conceding just one goal in the process which came in a 2-1 away win at Cardiff City.
Moore has been instrumental in that form for Reading and here is a selection of tweets by fans who’ve been impressed by the ex-Leicester man’s performances:
One of the biggest factors in deciding whether a transfer target is any good or not is looking at what his current club’s supporters are saying about him.
When West Ham signed Craig Dawson in the final stages of the transfer window, Watford fans seemed happy to get rid of the ex-West Brom defender.
Reading fans seem like they would be distraught if Moore moved on with the ex-England Under-21s international in the form he’s in right now.
And that is why he would probably be a good addition for the Hammers.
However, as nice as it would be to have another centre-back called Moore playing in claret and blue, Reading seem like serious promotion contenders based on their early form.
Why would they sell someone so key to their team?
In other West Ham news, Daniel Gabbidon was blown away by what happened in the draw with Manchester City.
