Reiss Nelson rejects Arsenal contract offer and will leave on a free transfer amid West Ham United interest
Reiss Nelson has rejected a new offer to renew his contract at Arsenal and is expected to leave the club on a free transfer this summer amid interest from West Ham, report the Daily Mail.
The winger has scored some vital goals for The Gunners in their bid for a first title in 20 years this season, but has largely made his appearances off the substitutes bench.
Despite Mikel Arteta’s side making an offer to keep him beyond this season though, the 23-year-old has instead opted to leave and go elsewhere for more regular football with West Ham among the interested clubs.
“Reiss Nelson has also rejected a new contract and is set to leave when his contract expires next month,” they wrote (15 May).
Interest
Nelson is an exciting young attacking player and West Ham are likely to need to upgrade in those wide areas for next season.

Manuel Lanzini is almost certain to leave the club when his contract expires while Michail Antonio, Gianluca Scamacca and Pablo Fornals all have struggled for regular minutes this season too.
Maxwel Cornet’s injury troubles have meant his Hammers career has been stop-start too, and Nelson’s arrival on a free transfer could be some shrewd business for West Ham as they look to continue to push to improve.
Nelson’s pace and skill would be a great addition and with plenty of his career ahead of him he is only likely to improve too.
There will be competition for his signature obviously but West Ham should be confident of getting it over the line if they make a move, and fans should be excited if it were to happen.
