Premier League rivals now join race in eleventh hour West Ham United-Luis Guilherme twist
Other Premier League clubs have joined West Ham in the race to secure the services of Palmeiras attacker Luis Guilherme, according to Valentin Furlan.
The Goal Brazil journalist has claimed that the Hammers have submitted a bid for the 18-year-old.
A source has said that while the London club are in the driver’s seat, the transfer is not yet sealed.
Via Twitter, Furlan wrote: “Palmeiras actually received a proposal from West Ham for Luis Guilherme. There is, however, competition.
“More Premier League clubs are interested in the young man and should make investments.
“‘You can walk with West Ham, but nothing definite yet’, said a source.”
West Ham face challenges to get Luis Guilherme over the line
The competition from other Premier League clubs could drive up the price for the 18-year-old, making it more difficult for the Hammers to secure his services.
Additionally, negotiations with Palmeiras and the player himself could prove challenging, as the Brazilian club may be holding out for a higher fee, and the player might be considering offers from other interested clubs.
He may also have his head turned if another club can offer him better wages or the possibility of challenging for trophies.
If he has aspirations of playing in Europe, that is something that could work against the Hammers.
Despite the club closing in on the transfer and they expect him to fly in for his medical, it’s not done until it’s done.
The Irons will need to navigate these challenges effectively to successfully bring Guilherme to the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign a striker who scored 33 goals in 2023/24.
