Portsmouth stance emerges as ‘West Ham to make Freddie Potts call’
Portsmouth are hopeful Freddie Potts will remain on loan with them from West Ham United for the remainder of the season, according to Andrew Moon.
The BBC reporter shared via his X account that the Championship club remain hopeful that the 21-year-old will complete the season at Fratton Park.
However, it was reported by ex-WHUEmployee [21 January] that his parent club are considering recalling the midfielder if they cannot get their transfer targets through the door during the winter transfer window.
West Ham have a decision to make on Freddie Potts
As Graham Potter looks ahead to the second half of the campaign with limited resources to work with at the London Stadium during the winter window, it is no surprise to see the boss looking towards younger players in the squad to come into his side.
The Irons could certainly use some reinforcements during the window as they look to strengthen their midfield going forward, and the 21-year-old has shown his quality over his loan spell with Portsmouth in the second tier.

Potter is well known for his ability to work well with the young players in the squad, meaning the youngster would no doubt be looking forward to the opportunity to develop under the 49-year-old back in East London.
However, with Pompey struggling at the bottom of the Championship, it is no surprise they are eager to keep the midfielder in the hope that he can continue to play his part in keeping his loan side up.
Whichever decision is made by his parent club, the main thing will be to ensure Potts continues to get regular minutes under his belt as he looks to progress in his career.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have been linked with a move for a Swiss sensation whose previous move collapsed.
