Ollie Scarles immediately reacts as West Ham United exit now confirmed
Ollie Scarles faces an uncertain future at West Ham.
The 19-year-old impressed last season, featuring 15 times in the Premier League with seven starts for Graham Potter’s side.
However, the Hammers have signed El Hadji Malick Diouf, which could limit his game time and force him to seek a temporary move away from the London Stadium.
Supporters will be hoping that it does not come to that, as he is one of their own, and he has already made a big impression.
Scarles reacts as Kodua exit confirmed
Gideon Kodua is another West Ham academy star, but he has unfortunately not enjoyed a similar breakout to Scarles in the first team fold.
He has joined Luton Town on a loan deal with a permanent option to purchase the forward at the end of the loan.
The League One outfit confirmed the arrival of the Irons ace in a post on Instagram (22 July).
Scarles reacted to the post by liking it and commenting with a fire emoji and a love-struck eyes emoji.
Scarles will not be going anywhere
Scarles will still get plenty of game time next season for the East London outfit, iconic commentator Ian Darke told West Ham Zone.
He is one of the most highly rated prospects to come out of the academy since Declan Rice, who moved to Arsenal for more than £100million in 2023.
The E20 side will be hoping to avoid the same fate with Scarles; they will hope that he fulfils his potential and goes on to lead the side to glory in the future, just like Rice did in the UEFA Europa Conference League before his exit.
He should ultimately thrive with the increased competition from the Senegal international in his position, but whether he does remains to be seen.
It does not seem like Kodua will get the chance to do that, considering the fact that there is an option to buy him inserted into the loan agreement with the Hatters.
Hammers supporters will watch his development closely, and he may eventually become the one that got away, if he can put it all together away from the Premier League outfit.
