‘Official bid’ submitted in West Ham hunt to sign Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen

West Ham United are in the race to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Strand Larsen has been linked with a move to the London Stadium for a number of months now, with Nuno Espirito Santo eager to bolster his forward line.

West Ham have already brought in Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente and Taty Castellanos from Lazio, moving quickly in the market to aid their survival push.

The Hammers are currently five points adrift of safety in the Premier League, and are looking to strengthen further in the closing stages of the window.

West Ham’s relegation rival submit Jorgen Strand Larsen bid

While the East London side expressed an interest in Strand Larsen back in December, they have yet to make a concrete move for the Norwegian.

However, they are far from the only Premier League side tracking the 25-year-old.

According to The Telegraph, Leeds United have now submitted an official bid for Strand Larsen in an attempt to add more firepower to their frontline.

Leeds are currently eight points clear of West Ham in the Premier League table, making them one of the Hammers’ relegation rivals.

The likes of Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are also interested in Strand Larsen, but as of yet, Daniel Farke’s side are the only ones who have made a decisive move.

Wolves are likely to demand around £40million for their centre-forward, who has only scored one league goal this season.

West Ham have other striker options

While it would be a blow for West Ham to see Strand Larsen move to a direct rival in their fight for Premier League survival, there is little they can do about it.

With Callum Wilson now set to stay at the London Stadium after scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory over Tottenham, Nuno already has more than enough forwards.

Wilson, Castellanos, and Pablo look like a dangerous strike force on paper, but it remains to be seen whether they can put that into practice.

Including the FA Cup triumph over QPR, West Ham have now won their last two games, so Nuno will be hoping that his side have turned a corner.

The Hammers face Sunderland at the London Stadium on Saturday in what is another crucial clash in their fight to avoid Premier League relegation.
