Number of new signings West Ham United want revealed after Luis Guilherme transfer

West Ham want six more new signings through the door after announcing the deal to sign Luis Guilherme, according to Roshane Thomas.

The Athletic journalist claimed on 13 June that the Hammers want a total of seven new players through the door in Julen Lopetegui’s first summer in charge.

Vitoria striker Jota Silva and Juventus winger Matias Soule are understood to be some of the targets this summer.

West Ham plan comprehensive transfer strategy for coming weeks

This is great news for the Hammers as it demonstrates a proactive and ambitious approach to the transfer window under Lopetegui.

The club’s desire to secure six additional signings, following the acquisition of Luis Guilherme, shows a commitment to strengthening the squad across multiple positions.

Their comprehensive transfer strategy likely extends beyond these two players, with a backup keeper, left-back, centre-back, and potentially a right-back also on the radar.

By addressing these key positions, West Ham can build a more balanced and competitive squad capable of challenging for a top-six finish and making a strong run in domestic and European competitions.

The depth and quality added to the team will also provide Lopetegui with the tools he needs to implement his tactical vision and style of play.

There needs to be more progress in terms of getting deals over the line as the new manager will need his players in time for pre-season.

In other West Ham news, a £33.7m update has emerged as the Hammers have made contact to sign the best dribbler in a top 5 European league this summer.
